I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of

your letter of the 16th of December No 45327/1908 and its

enclosures as to the question whether the scheme put forward

in Messrs Roode Son & Vatthews's report of the 3rd of

October last for the construction of a breakwater at ongkok-

tsui contemplated the reclamation of the area in front of

plots 35 and 36 which are the property of the Admiralty.

2. We communicated the papers to the Consulting

Engineers and I transmit for the information of the Secretary

of State a copy of their reply.
